I love the military artwork. Although this stuff isn't all that cheap. The Bf 109s and Fw190s I was able to buy at discount prices. However, the KM Admiral Hipper had to be bought from the UK as Randall Wilsons stuff isn't sold in the US at all. No dealers. However, Cranston shipped it 2 day from the UK to California for free.

Anyway, here are my prints, framed and on the walls of the bunker. Id still like to get Trudgians "the big guns", "winter patrol", and "aces of the western front" from Taylor.

The Gunther Rall drawing and his signature are a little tacky. When I bought it, I thought it was something like 8.5x11 as the seller didn't have the dimensions. Whe it arrived I realised it like 18x26. I bought it for around $20 and I was amazed to see how expensive this one actually is at retail.

Thanks Mike.....my wife doesn't think so:D

I put quite a bit of thought into each of these purchases....both Luft prints were inexpensive $20-$90. The Randall Wilson wasn't too cheap and I fully researched his work prior to committing on an individual piece.....infact I communicated directly with him a number of times before the purchase. He's an Ausie. A good guy. Willing to answer questions directly and his art pieces are very technical. He has alot of great prints and is an underappreciated military realism artist. I encourage everyone to check his stuff out. I promis you won't be dissappointed.

I like all my prints...but I still don't know about old Gunther. He hangs next to the desktop computer and is always keeping an eye on me....kinda creepy...but not as bad as a room full of manquines dressed as Nazi soldiers, littered throughout the bunker, having tea parties.:D:D:D:D:D:D. I don't the wife would tollerate any manequines. I've always threatened her though. I told her it would be like the Bergins. Candice had to refer to Charlie McCarthy as her "big brother" and old Edgar had Charlie at the dinner table...always. Dress up a few nazi soldiers and seat them next to us at the dinner table:D:D:D:D Funny, but sick

Here is one of the prints that you mention you are looking for: Robert Taylor's ACES OF THE WESTERN FRONT. This is truly a beautiful print as only Robert Taylor can deliver. John Young, another English artist has one of a JG-2 FW-190 flying passed this same place but on the other side.

Very nice! I have been looking for some vintage posters, maps or photographs to frame and hang in my war room. I have yet to find exactly what it is I'm looking for...even though I don't know exactly what I'm looking for :confused1::wink:

I'm sure once I see it, I will know...

Well Rob if you're looking for limited-edition aviation prints with signatures of the aces that flew the planes, my friend is selling his collection and consists of many Robert Taylor prints, including the one shown above. PM me if anybody is interested.

Sorry, don't mean to be selling stuff on this thread, but I'm doing it for the collector --- not even my stuff.

nice,,that print of Rall with the sig was from a series.. Last SOS my friend and I saw one but for a SS man [framed nicely] and the dealer wanted $500!

On the last day we saw a dealer with them under his table,,I believe he had 6 or 7,,mint, signed ,,a SS , a KM, Luft, Panzer etc. and my buddy got them for very cheap for the whole group that he had...
No sooner than we had them at our table then guys were making him offers on them,,,sorry, but not for sale..
My buddy stopped collecting but framed the Panzer one and it hangs in his office,,they are really nice..
*wonder how many to the set?

Gaspare-
I belive you on that. I was surprised when a number of months after I had purchased it I conducted some research and found that the going rate on it was around $250..and that's when you can find one. The particular dealer didn't have any left.

I've got:

Horst Ramsch, Heer Major of Panzer
Werner Freiherr von Beschwitz, another panzer ace
Heinz Reverchon, must be another panzer ace since there is also a Panzer Assault Badge
Wolfgang Kapp, Major in assault guns
Adam Dyroff, infantry major, and
Hugo Paul, Fallschirmjager.

These are all done by J. G. Keck in 1988. They are all signed and numbered by the artist and also signed by the Knight's Cross winner. I came across a bunch of these on eBay several years ago for something like $24 each. I guess I'll get them framed someday and stagger them up the staircase wall. Should fit nicely.

When I bought the Rall portrait, it came with a COA and a another poster with all the other RK winners is series #2 of the set...so I guess there are at least 2 different sets of various RK winners, if not more. An correct, by Janice Keck.

Here's a Gunther Rall, identical to mine but, obviously, numbered differently.

Seller starts auction at $100 or buy it now for $150. No thanks. Mine cost $22 brand news with all the COA and the list of other images from that series.

Anyway, if somone is interested:

She did 1 SS: Hans Hauser, a KC with "Der Führer," that I have framed and bought 2 for friends at $24 each (signed by her and Hauser). Its a good likeness and I met him several times. I also have about 70 framed aviation prints (Taylor, Wootton, etc) on the walls but they include RAF and US aircraft as well as Luftwaffe. I also had 3 done by my own illustrator that are signed by the individuals: Otto Baum (Swords), Ernst August Krag (Oakleaves), and Josef Lainer (Knight's Cross and Close Combat Clasp in Gold), all from "Das Reich."

The other day I was looking through a box of assorted sheet music the wife was given by her aunt. The music belonged to the wife's uncle who played the accordion. During the war, he was a motorcycle courier in Italy. The music with Uncle Sam on also has some funny lyrics.

"You started with your shooting on the seventh of December,
But let me tell you now: It's a day you'll remember!
(Chorus)
You're a Sap Mister Jap, To make a Yankee cranky, You're a Sap Mister Jap, Uncle Sam is gonna spanky....."

Here is a portrait I had an individual paint from a studio photo my dad had done probably in 1944. I met the painter when he inquired about some combat photos I posted on the web. He has a small business where he paints them. I have included a web site where you can see his work. The portrait now sits on a table top easel next to dad's framed Glider and Paratrooper certificates
