Hi
Here is a quick reference to using Alt codes to write German accents.
Press Alt on your keyboard and (keeping the key depressed)
Ä 0196
ä 0228
Ö 0214
ö 0246
Ü 0220
ü 0252
ß 0223
Whilst we are on the subject of Alt codes, to type the Euro symbol (€) it is Alt €

Hi
I have just created a PDF of common codes.
Should anyone require a version for Mac, or French and Spanish, then just let me know.
When you click on the attachment, just choose the option to save it to your computer so you can print it off and keep it as a reference.
Best wishes
Raymond

Hi Raymond,
Interesting, must depend how your keyboard is set up or what language you use?
Same results but I use:
Ä 142
ä 132
Ö 153
ö 148
Ü 154
ü 129
ß 225
alt gr (right alt key) €

Thats correct, I'm afraid.
Symbols from 0 to 128 are the same all over the world.
129 - 255 aren't.

Well that is interesting.
Perhaps someone can supply me with a list of the alternatives.
As Ian is from the same country, I wonder if you have your keyboard set up to a different international language. Sounds silly, but it maybe the case.
Or I have, of course :D
