SScrooge- Love the embroidery work on those police eagles. Do you know if there is any significance to the different colors used on them? I'm relatively new to collecting TR suff, and have just been involved in daggers for year & half. Having worked in law enforcement for past 18 yr.s or so though, I find myself getting really interesed in police items from that era.

Regards- Mike

Hey Dave,
Some info. I've gleaned from surfing around is that those embroidered in gold bullion were for Wasserschtzpolizei and general officers and those in silver were for all other branches. The named eagles were worn by the NCOs. By Mid War the colored and bullion sleeve eagles were discontinued and were replaced by standardized machine woven, bevo type eagle. Credit for this bit of info. goes to a Mr. Bill Unland and not myself. I want to get a police crash helmet myself, but got to pay off this Tschako I recently purchased first.

Regards, Mike
