The left guy is wearing a chevron (Armwinkel). This was introduced by Stabschef Röhm for the SA and SS with the date February 3, 1934. The chevron was, available February 20 and in the SA replaced by the service-stripes. These were introduced by Lutze September 9, 1934 and were a sign of longtime membership (entry in the SA between Januay 1, 1925 up through January 31, 1933). This could result in stripes in silver-grey of 12mm wide and 4 mm wide.

I wrote extensive articles about the chevron and stripes for the German magazine "Militaria", the Patzwall magazine in 1995 in two parts (Nr. 2 from April and Nr. 3 from May/June) and for the US-magazine "Military Advisor" from Bender Nr. 4 from autumn 1995.

Thanks Wilm  I asked, as this is the first Photo i have yet to come across, that clearly shows the NSDAP Members badge and a Sympathy badge being worn together :thumbup1:
Of course it could be that he is wearing two Party Badges, but i don't see the point, i guess it has to be a Nun Erst Recht or Deutschland Erwache on the Pocket, and Regular on the Binder as per regulations.

I guess the right guy is an SS candidate. He is not wearing
any collar-patches yet!

It was up since 2009, i mailed the guy at least 4 times, asking for better pics, as the double party badge piece was covered, and i wanted to make sure that he was not confusing a party badge on the breast pocket with the button, but he always mailed me back with a silly reply and no picture... so last week i decided to take a chance and "waste" €25.- which as it turns out aint no waste at all, it`s a l♥vely photo. I like the natural settings and every day life snaps, especially of Alte Kämpfer....

Here, regarding old photos, i sent this one i have to a mate last night, and he recons that the man is wearing the first version Fat Braunschweig badge? what do you recon?

I am not 100% sure it's the round one.
