I acquired this shell from a friends mother who cleans out peoples homes.

I'm not an expert on ordinance. I have no idea what this is other than its naval and its dated 1917. I assume it to be British as the MK (mark?) is dated on it.

The pictures should provide an accurate description but the markings go as such.

On the projectile.
BL&P 1PDR T-MK 11 (or II) EV&M -15
Under that:
Anchor stamp, W.A.L (anchor in brackets) and another anchor stamp.

On the bottom (striking point) shell. Top to bottom
WMFGCO
N(?) 1917
1 Pdr
OT 8, anchor stamp, JBS

I have a Friend who seems to think these two peices may have been thrown together. I think differently honestly.

What is this? what type of vessel would have been used on?
