Thomas, greets to the Mother City. The painted, and varnished versions of the HJ badge are the same as any other small badge that would have been enamelled before the war. Most of these small badges, including pins, were painted or varnished after the War was full in swing. A good condition painted HJ pin, is worth just a smidgeon more than the normal version:biggrin:
Here is one of mine, No maker.

Hi Richard
First time i have heard that they are "Well known" fakes.
Why would colored HJ badges not have been made? After all, the Boy scouts movement before the HJ did have colored badges to distinguish rank. Could you please elaborate on this.

I found this one on the net. If they were never produced, why has a faker gone through all the trouble to create colors that were never made? Maybe someone who knows a bit more about HJ badges will know. (I did see a HJ knife with a blue router once that was described as original...but cant remeber what for now...at the MAX it was :scared:)

The colored HJ badges were made for only one thing, to seperate people from thier money. Agree with Stu and Richard on the Otto Hoffman, don't be fooled by these, ask on any forum and you will get the same response,
