Hello everyone,

Due to the cruel unavoidable countdown, I won't be able to post a full blown review of "Headgear of Hitler's Germany" volume 3 (http://www.worldwartwobooks.com/product.php/7019/headgear-of-hitler-s-germany-vol-3-hitler-nsdap-political-leaders-ns-frauenschaft-daf-sa), the book is just too much book http://www.smileygarden.de/smilie/Schleifchen-Girls/smilie_girl_253.gif so, perhaps I'll post it at another forum somewhere. Still, this whopping over a 500 pages worth of info deserves attention. I don't think that the title covers it properly. Sure, specific attention is given to headgear, BUT ... there's SO MUCH MORE to this book!

There's info on everything being (or related) to political groups/orgs, Frauenshaft, DAF and SA. And that is a LOT! It covers aspects of uniforms but also the general background of these groups/orgs. On top of all that, there's images. LOTS of images! Over a 1000 of them! Fotographs, documents, (RZM) labels, and even tallies. Had to look up what those are, but, they're like armbands? But on hats/caps. So, where else would you be able to find a foto of, say, a Marine SA group, where 1 of its members is held by his feet upsidedown??! *LOL* OR, find info such as the fact that women were NOT allowed to drive for groups such as NSF or DFW? I mean, how medieval is THAT? And if that's not enough for ya, have a look at the color addendum! MANY MANY hats/caps, in full detailed color! WOW http://www.smileygarden.de/smilie/Schleifchen-Girls/smilie_girl_020.gif

Last, but not least, its by "our" Wim Saris (http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/3097649.Wilhelm_P_B_R_Saris), so, ya KNOW its gotta be good http://lh3.ggpht.com/_ebhzImXydkc/S9_hzU_i-eI/AAAAAAAABHU/hBiNZzTUro4/7.gif

Are you talking about Wilm's re-write of volume #3? The original volume #3 came out over 10 years ago I believe...

Really believed you said something WAY different weibliche, but, YES, the rewritten, refurbished, added upon, elaborated PILE of vital information, including all the extra info Wim and everyone that helped found.

But, even it was from 1998 (and I know that is over 10 years ago, no need for Wikipedia links), it is new to me, and I think it is new to a lot of collectors, and the info in the book would have been just as good.

I wouldn't see a reason to NOT review an older book just for this merit.

Volume 3 was not ever re-written. It was published in 1998, so about 12 years ago. Volume 4 was published in 2005 and with a bit of luck at the end of 2011 volume 5 can be available.
The volumes 1 and 2 are neither re-written. If there ever will come an addendum depends on how long it will take to finish the series.

all the best guys. Who knows we see each one and other somewhere, but as far as I have considered now it won't be at any other forum!

Volume 3 was not ever re-written.

My bad then, was confused by the foreword mentioning postponing the release 'cause of the amount of new info found.
