Here are a few items recovered from russia, normally rayon based materials like piping on shoulder straps thread ect deteriorates but the wool survives.

1st item is a cuff title that was found inside a leather wallet, i have the wallet somewhere still with some poppy seeds inside and a couple of coins, the cuff title was folded inside the wallet.

Non of these items have come from Grave digs

SS sleeve eagle, this is how they normally deteriorate, although i have had examples that still had stitching intact, but the stitching had gone an almost black/brown colour, when held up to the light you can seen the holes where the stitching had been

Here is a quite remarkable pair of ss nco's straps (Dug) that where found in a bunker still attached to what was left of a great coat, remarkable because they had been under the ground for 60 years

Very interesting gary!

That bullion TK title is quite a find. I know there has been som debate over the shape of embroidered bullion skulls on cuffs.

Thanks for sharing!

Felix,
you are correct, the h/e skull titles have been faked and some faked well, the better fakes come from France, but that is a tale for another thread, does anyone else have any dug up SS insignia?
