Here is a DKiG you don't see everyday... one that is field etched with name, rank and units. This belonged to Karl-Ludwig Haedge, who was a Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager in Italy. You can read up on him here:

Then there are the cloth versions of the DKiG. Here are two such examples with a gray-green backing and the other with the panzer black backing. These are both sewn onto Waffen-SS jackets.

One other aspect of the DKiG is the veteran's stickpins that were worn in the lapels of their civilian clothes. This is the nicest one of the DKiG that I have ever seen.

You're welcome Carlos. The only other ones that I've seen sort of looked like the swastika cockcade on the NSDAP service caps; were very poorly executed. I'm surprised that after the book about stickpins came out, that there wouldn't be more reproductions of this one too. I guess this one is a bit tougher to make.

Bob,
any markings on the pin?
... and I have to respectfully disagree since I think this one is of even higher quality., a L/50 marked one.

I don't remember seeing any manufacturer markings on the back. It doesn't belong to me but I can email Willi and have him look. Nice to see that there are more of these -- but not too many!

There are some wonderful examples of one of my favorite looking 3rd Reich awards being show here! Thanks for sharing, guys. I'm still looking for my first DKiG, and this is the inspiration I need to keep at it :thumbup1:

By the way, just for accuracy's sake, the case that houses my Klein DKiG is a very nice replica, from Reddick Militaria.

Bob.

Has anyone ever seen that odd rippling on the edges of the enamel on the swastika, before?...Is that common with this maker?
Cheers,
Bob.

BoB,
I don't know whether it is common or not (rather not I would think) but I cans say that the cross is a beauty!
