Here is my new SLD Flaregun out of the woodwork in Norway:)

The condition is as new. I think this have been taken extra care of

The pistol also have the O 342 marking on back grip. OST See marking. I have never seen that on a SLD before. Only the North See numbers.
Some info from a advanced collector tells this about the O markings :

He says to me that the O (Ostsee) property markings are correct to see with the KM property marking from the late 1930s through the war.

good morning i must be drunk on orange juice i just sent post with out finishing it . yes you are right the germans made the best of most everything in militaria the quality was surperb. another few gallons of gas and they might have possibly won the war but then they had to deal with blood n guts gen. george patton ole george wasnt given rommel an inch of ground two great generals fought thier hearts out thanks again best andy militarynut

these flares are very hard to find out there. I have searched near 10 year for a mint SLD now. Finally it get results:w00t:

Its a keeper for my collection for ever.

I did an appraisal of a collection recently that included 3 flare guns but not one of them comes even close to this example for craftsmanship. Congradulations to a very nice addition to your collection!:thumbup:

It is great to see your flaregun. I have had for 40+ years a brass double barreled flaregun. I am always looking to learn more about it. I believe it is from the 1930's. The manufacturer is AWW. You don't see many flareguns. Yours is beautiful!
