Hello everybody.
I just visited some stores downtown, that i had no idea that they existed, and i was like a young kid at a toy store. :D They had lots of antiques and quite a few militaria pieces.
I'm going to visit them again on wednesday, but i already saw some interesting pieces today.
I'm very sorry i couldn't take a picture of the item in question, but the seller didn't let me do so. The usual cr4p that goes like "not that you would do it, but it has happened to me that the pictures are later everywhere in the net". As if the item was top rare or something. :001_rolleyes:
Anyway, i tried memorizing a few things of the item i saw, and did a quick drawing of it, hoping that somebody will ID it and let me know a bit more about it.
Drawing isn't that good but you may get the idea.
There were names of AXIS airplanes where the blue lines were draw, along with heights in feet, and some more markings. It had a hole in the middle, with 2 straight wire lines.
On the back, it said "US NAVY, etc etc", a very nice detailed engraved piece of metal attached to it.
Any clue anybody? I think it was an artillery item for every specific enemy airplane. But that's just a guess.
It looked very original, whatever it was, and i was wondering if anybody has seen it before, and for what these usually go for.
