I can't tell you for certain however, there is an old test that you can do by taking a Q-tip, moisten the end and touch it to the open, burlap looking, area in the center of the reverse. If the glue smells like animal then chances are it's good. The glue used back in those days was made from certain animals.

I would say these are copies. The original final pattern high leader's tabs had the Wolfsangels going in the same direction (not mirrored images) and this backing I've only seen on reproductions. Manion's auctions used to have some of these for sale as reproductions 5 or 10 years ago.
