Here's a card that has it all for us Political guys. It shows Grimminger with the BF at the FHH. This is a card that took me along time to find and it's a real work of art!

Erich
That is a stunning postcard!
Both in propaganda photography and artwork pieces alike, there is no doubt that some very atmospheric and iconic imagery was produced in this period.
Regards Richard.

Grimminger, I read that name, believing it merely was a nickname for the guy in the black uniform  And I didn't even notice the letters 'BF'.
Only today I realized that Grimminger is a name I've seen before. And of course, BF, it stands for Blutfahne, the one from the SA 'Bier Halle' putsch in Munich having stains of blood from the 'martyrs' that died for the cause :001_rolleyes:
So, thanks for sharing this beautiful card AND for the refreshing history lesson :thumbup1:

He can be seen in the movie 'Triumph des Willens (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0025913/)', but that's about it as far as I know. The movie probably is not banned here in Holland, but I'm sure I'd have a hard time finding it if. Maybe a copy can be 'borrowed' online somewhere?

Hi Karin, in Switzerland nothing is banned, so i would have no idea about what is banned, (if anything) and in what country, but i know that Wim Vangollum has a copy of Triumph of the Will, and seeing as he is your Neighbor, maybe he could burn you a copy, after all, the film is so old that no copyrights would apply anymore, so burning a copy should`nt be a problem.

Erich : Very nice and rare Art Postcard. My friend who passed away in the 90s Ben Sweringen from Texas knew Grimminger and his wife and visited him very often. Ben on occasion would ask him what happened to the blood flag but he would never speak about it. Ben told me that he and his wife live in poverty and that he would bring coffee and jelly over to then on his visits as that is what they liked. At the time Ben passed away we were in the process of a deal on getting Grimmingers original wedding photos. You should have seen the photos what an SS Wedding that was it was amazing . Unfortunatly when Ben died so did the deal on the photos. I did have copies of them but they are buried somewere in the house. Should I ever find them I will post them as you would be amazed as it was an all out SS wedding. Thanks for sharing the art card with us. Best Wishes Don Boyle

Thanks Don for the additional info on Grimminger and hope to see the wedding pictures soon. There was a good article on him in the "Military Advisor" a while back and it said that Grimminger was able to get a small pension due to him being on the Munich City Council during the War.

Hi Jo,
Somehow, all of a sudden, a copy appeared on my PC at home  It is subtitled in English. Should the movie for that same no reason and at that same suddenness appear on some location on the internet, I'll post a link to it here for everyone that is interested in seeing it. I wouldn't know about Göring or Goebbels, though I guess Grimminger wouldn't mind the attention :001_rolleyes: I hope. It will be on my playlist this saturday for sure!
Very best regards,
Karin-Renate

I second this silently though wholeheartedly! I've never seen evidence of SS weddings. There is something being said about it in a documentary that I saw not too long ago, about the SS and its occult ties. Very interesting subject that I would like to know more about!
Still, a wedding being an SS one, that must be something different. And the wedding of the Bloodflag bearer to boot, I can't begin to imagine! Please, please, PLEASE share some images or information on that subject! :001_rolleyes:

Is "Military Advisor" a US or a European magazine? Is it for professional military personnel? Or does it deal with history? How come 'they' did a story on Grimminger? Just being curious :)

The Military Advisor is published By Bender Publishing here in the States. It's a magazine for collectors and they do a lot of articles on Militaria and history. Here's a creepy picture from the film of Grimminger.

Nice still image! Thanks Erich! I'm looking forward to watching this movie. According to Hitler, it is supposed to be the "incomparable glorification of the power and beauty of our Movement". This makes it educational to say the least.

It took me a while to find a place where I was able to upload such a big file so others can download it, but here it is, if anyone else want to view it:
Thriumph des Willens (https://www.wuala.com/Krullies/Videos/Triumph_des_Willens.avi?key=0jZFmjC1xByt)
It has English subtitles, so if German language is an issue, that will help. There probably is more than one edition of this movie. If anyone has information on that, and on the version posted here, please share :)

As the movie uploaded at the location mentioned in the previous post has been used two times exactly since upload, I take it that nobody will think it a big shame if the movie is removed from that location? :001_cool:
In case anyone is interested in it; have a look here (http://www.archive.org/details/Triumphofthewill). The link is given by courtesy of Jo.
Ofcourse, I'll always be willing to share a copy of Triumph des Willens, should anyone have trouble to obtain a copy of it. Unless you'll come haunt me for copyright charges and infringement of something  In that case I'll give a copy as personal backup only, this copy may not be played
Very best regards,
