My first ring on this forum.
This German ring is from Belgium near Ypres. It's made of a French copper coin. I' ve seen several other rings; it's the makers aim to keep the coin tekst inside complete.
I' ve read that , around 1850, together with the regular Belgium money, these French coins circulated in Begium too.
Tekst inside the ring is NapoleonIII Empereur 1865. ( See the example coin below right)
On the outside;
In the centre the German cross 1914 , 1916.
The name of a place near Ypres ; "Menin" (for French, or Minen for the Flandres).
The other word is German," Feldzug" , Campaign.
In Menin is a large, perhaps the largest German cementry.
I wish this forum success!:thumbup1:

Benten, indeed an interesting ring.
I am reminded of my WWII coin ring. With the band made from a French coin?
Thanks to your kindness I know the writing inside the band. CHAMBRE(S)DE COMMER(CE) FRANCE. It wasn't all redable, you filled in the blanks.

Benteen's example is professionaly made while mine appears to be a homemade type of ring.
Will share a side view. The III'd Reich coin face has nothing to do with this fine thread.

Joe, interesting . For me it's the first thirdreich coin ring I see. Is the coin on your ring a real legal coin or is the coin specially made to decorate the ring? I ask it because I have an old Dutch coin ring; the coin is not really a legal coin.
Gaspare , very nice ring. I post here a coin, made of a mix of brass and aluminium that could be the same type as your ring ? I think you have to use a soft wooden hammer so the coin text will not be destroyed.

Thats great Benten!! thats it for sure!
It's a soft ring. Who ever did the work certainly knew what they were doing as the outside and engraving are professionally done and finished off.. Thanks again for the photo:thumbup1:,,,,G.

Benten, a good question. I will have to dig it out and look. I have some coins to compare it with.
Gaspare, a nice ring you have.

Benten, it was a 1938 5 Reichspfennig. The reverse was ground flat.
Images of a coin attached. Sorry the best my scanner will do with the brass coin.
