Hi Scott, for sure Dr Franke, lightly rub some talc in, that will show up the lettering better, funny how the rear is pebbled like Assmann buckles and a nice catch variation, nice buckle mate, good find :thumbup1:

To be a bit more complete about this concern:
the full name is Dr.Franke & Co, GmbH (Gemeinschaft mit beschränkter Haftung)Militäreffekten-Fabrik, Lüdenscheid.
Their 1936 leaflets tells us:
RZM-numbers M1/16, M4/23, M5/75 amd M5/75/3

Their 1940's cataloque mentions the same, but additionally M5/75/4.
The buckle with the hanging tail as shown, was listed as Nr.6109 (nach Vorschrift), as Koppelschloss für Dienst, so not for the walking-out or parade-uniform.
The new type of airforce-buckle was not even included in this cataloque (where already the political leaders buckle was shown).
They manufactured buckles for the army, airforce, police/fire-brigades (and Feuerschutzpolizei), political leaders, miner's. No others were shown or it were double claws.

Their marking is a circle with in the middle a capital "F" with in its middle a "c" and at left and through the lower leg of the "F" a capital ""L"
It is to be found in the second Angolia, page 23, at left second from above.
