Today's find, "Mother’s Cross" in bronze. Nothing special, outside of being excited to purchase it for little too nothing.

Mothers crosses are underrated in my opinion. The overall design is well executed, plus you have the transparent blue enamel in contrast with the white enamel and the bronze finish. Very nice example!

Are the silver and gold examples next? Then of course there are the miniature versions of each as well.

Chuck,

Actually I have the gold and silver and now two bronzes. The miniatures are on my “want list”. I’m addicted! Always searching!

Nice to see the others in your collection RichardF8. The miniatures are out there, I have two, the bronze and the silver. I do come across a gold every now and then, but as of yet nothing to my liking condition wise. There are variations with the bow style miniatures ( ribbon widths and ribbon end-cuts, V notch or 45 degree.) plus other variations as to the method of display.

I collect autographed photos of the Knight's Cross winners and have this one source I do (did) a lot of business with. He goes back to Germany each year and visits with family and meets up with several RKT and gets autographs. One of his cousins came up with his grandmother's Mother's Cross in Bronze with the envelop and award document. Since his cousin didn't want it, and the grandmother wasn't in my friend's direct line, he put it up for auction and I bought it. I had it framed up and it sits on my wall. I don't particularly collect the party-related stuff, but the source and completeness made it special.

Nice complete grouping there Bob, and very well displayed I might add.

Thank you, Chuck, but unfortunately the wonderful woman who designed and framed this suffers from Alzheimer's and no longer has a frame shop and art gallery.

Thanks Weibliche. I have a few autographed photos framed (just store bought) hanging on the walls so I thought this would go well. And Cherie had excellent taste in matting and framing. Whenever I would take a print to her for framing, I just dropped it off and let her do her thing. She always came through; never disappointed with her work. I also have a Waffen-SS recruiting poster (no picture on it, just words) for Nurnberg 1942 for the LSSAH and SS-Polizei-Division. It states when and where to show up and gives some applicant requirements, e.g. height, etc. This was brought into Cherie's shop for framing and the owner never returned, so she sold it to me for the price of the matting and framing - less than $150 --- about 15 years ago!
