My first sword. One that will remain in my collection.
Have some other pictures around, will attempt to dig them out and scan them.

Joe-
A wonderful example. Not rare but certainly very purdy. Definitely one to hold onto as a representative example. From my experience, i'm convinced that PS often used parts from other manufacturers as was common practice in the dagger realm. A little less common with sabers, although it did happen, seemingly with some manufacturers more so than with others.

I agree about the sharing. There is a Herder unattributed model that matches. Could be others.
Swordfish, I will refrain from using your name till you say otherwise. Do you have any Voos blades?

Der,
You can use my name. Hope I didn't offend you using your first name. I'm sorry if I did.
I have quite a few Voos sabers. They are some of my favorite. I'll post some soon.
Take care guys,

Joe, I'm glad. I've never had a problem putting my 1st name out there...but I keep my last name to myself...for various reasons..like most collectors. I'm very security conscience. Some of our peers don't even want thier 1st name out there and prefer to go by thier handle. I totally understand and try my best not to mention even a first name unless I'm quite sure almost everyone else knows that collectors name. Anyway, I guess that could be a topic in and of itself.
I'll try to get some Voos photos up tommorrow morning (Sunday) already tommorrow in some parts of the world. Us Californians and Hawaiins are still somewhere in Saturday night. In Honolulu it's 1930 right now..sun should be setting right about now...while in other parts of the world, it's mid-day on Sunday. Amazing that we can all communicate with the internet and cell-phones at anytime. Really cool when you think about it.

"Why I remember when we required pigeons to talk to each other" "oh yea...well I remember when we only had tin cans and string". "Oh yea, well I remember when we only used tablets to communicate with each other". Hehheee
Good collecting,

Hi Joe-
The first is a Voos dovehead with dual national emblams/wehrmacht eagles. ONe on the p-guard/knuckle bow and one on the obverse langet. The hilt is heavy brass. Note the very small grip ferrule on these.
The saber next to the Voos is an Eickhorn 1735...which this example in particular is a scarcer pattern. Note the saber is an early brass hilter, complete with intact leather finger loop. These are very seldom encountered in this configuration. I really like this one. These 2 sabers came together.

Up next is a rare Voos pattern. Very simliar to the piece picutred on page 129 of Angolia, except for some minor differences, making this one evern more rare than the example in Angolia. If you'll notice the one pictured in Angolia does not have the laurel wreath around the national symbol. The saber pictured below does. A very ornate, very heavy brass hilted piece, complete with flat knuckle bow. Wonderful detail to this piece.

I don't have photos of the other. I need to remove her from the display case to photograph it. I'll do so later.

Thanks Joe. George just posted some nice Voos examples on GDC. One of them is same one that I posted with the double eagles/NSDAP symbol. He also posted another nice one the typical Voos stylized eagle on the langet...it's tagged and bagged in its original issue bag. Well worth checking out for Voos fans.
