Also got this with the L/11 IC and the luft gab. Need some opinions on this badge.

Hi Rod~

I see a few issues with this badges reverse. The inscriptions isn't quite right for this pattern SA- Wehrabzeichen. The reverse should read 'Eigentum D. Obersten S.A.- Fuhrung'. Here is this same badge, only in gold as an example.

http://worldwarmilitaria.com/forum/showpost.php?p=40913&postcount=24

Your example is missing the 'E' from the word 'Eigentum' and is also missing the 'slash' between S.A.- Fuhrung. The inscription is also very light in detail when compared to the example I posted in the Sports Items Thread.

Just my opinion...could just be a weak strike though...

I see what you mean Weibliche. Will have to do some more research on this badge. Thank You for the headsup.

Maybe a search for the pin assembly would not harm. Is it correct for a REDO or not?

Regards, Wim :)

What should bother you, is why Lautern is partially stamped Off the Swastika and onto the wreath !

Wim and Weibliche. I was researching this badge and came up with this one. There is no dash between S.A.FUHRUNG. Also even thought the lettering on mine is weak they look the same except that it looks like a couple of letters are covered up by the catch. Wim, the hardware on the back of mine is the same as the one in the URL. You can check it out at http://70.87.163.50/forums/showthread.php?t=307089&highlight=sa+sport+badge

Jo. If you look at the example in the url you will see that the n in Lautern is also stamped off the swastika a bit.

Jo. That is the freedom of opinion! I am not saying mine is a good one but it has a lot of the same features as the one in the url.

Almost missing a letter is not so unusual with these badges. It's possible to see this on other makers too. They had a lot to write on it

It appears that you are happy with this badge Rod, in the end that is all that matters!:001_cool:

I just don't particularly like the 'rough' manufacture of this SA-Wehrabzeichen.

All the best~

Sent pictures of this badge to a very well known dealer and he said he has seen them with weak letters just like this one and said there is no problem with it.

Here is the bottom line guys. I will not say this badge is original nor will I say it isn't. I will just put it with my questionable items.
