Here is a set that I was very lucky to acquire and came in a lot from a vets nephew.

I remeber having seen that pair before! Among the classic shape of the runes due to being embroidered on top of an underlagen there of course exists small sub variatons depending of the firm who made them. This rune tab is of a special version that I have seen a few others like. Some with paper RZM tags. One on kai Winklers site that I was tempted to buy when he had a 50% discount but still it was too expensive due to my thin wallet. Yes, Kai had a mixture of some really nice items and horrible fakes. It takes skill to shop on your own!

Interesting to note is that the pips are of different construction. Thats a nice sign!
Often you can also find mathing pairs with slightly different backing or shape. These are still matching because they are from the same tunic. Purists often want them to be of the exact same shape and backing but still they can not tell if it is indeed an original matching pair or a pair that is put together because it loks more matching. Just look at period pictures an you can often see that they often had some variatons.
