A few weeks ago, a guy from Spain started to flood the market with the following.
I say flood the market, because he is always selling these, only 1 at a time on various auction sites....but every week. They usually sell for up to €600.- !!
He advertises them as the currency that Waffen SS officers paid with overseas, ie: Italy etc......
I contacted him, and asked him a few questions, Here is what he had to say to the questions, in Red.
What do you guys think? is this for Real ? Just too many Question marks for my liking. I have never seen anything like this before, but to me, it`s a load of old cobblers.
Why do they say Reich Bank. When the propper name was Reichsbank (one word with a s)
Because the Bank was called the Reich Bank and not the Reichsbank
Why is there a Waffenamt Abnahme stamp on them ?
Because that is how they used to stamp them after the war was full in swing.
Why are they so crudely made?
Because they had to be made quickly.
In his mails to me, he was rather insulting as well, stating "facts" that any collector would either Know, or know that what he was telling me was Bollocks, so my reply back to him was somewhat rude..(ok, more than somewhat) after that, i got flooded with mails from him, that i just deleted......... so, hope that someone here can clear this up for me, and if necessary i can warn the people who run the other Auction sites. I might be way off the mark here, like i said, i aint never laid eyes on one of these before, but the rate that they are turning up, has got me thinking that someones hit on a new get rich quick plan.
