I understand the 'official' basic swallows nests used by the HJ/DJ were red and white but other colours were also used such as black and white and blue and white. According to Littlejohn, in February 1942 the RJF was obliged to issue a reminder that colours other than red and white were contrary to regulations so perhaps they were quite prevalent.
Here's a pair of black and white swallows nests. Can anyone tell me what organisation used these, or if perhaps, they could be unofficial HJ/DJ nests used before the RJF's reminder?

Not sure about the ones you have displayed but I picked this piece up from Bill Shea earlier this year... a Feldwebel of Panzer Bandsman Waffenrock with the pink piping. These swallows nests are sewn into the jacket as opposed to clipped on. Also picked up a really nice pink-piped enlisted service cap to go with it.

Nice setup Bob - I also bought the nests above from Bill earlier this year. I'm thinking they are likely HJ/DJ nests used prior to enforcement of the regulations by the RJF, because they are in a colour that was known to be used by them, and also because they are very plain. However, I'm hoping someone may be able to offer some other suggestions or known organisations for this colour scheme.

Bob,
Love the tunic. I wish I had something like that. Love the bandsmen tunics.

Thank you, Norman. I was looking over Bill Shea's website one day and there it was and I just had to have it. I also bought a nice Army Panzer NCO/OR Service Cap for it. All I need now is a nice quality belt and buckle. I'd love to find an Army drum hanger and a snare drum for it... that would look great in an exhibit. All in good time... that is what collecting is all about.

Can you post a photo with a closeup of the weave pattern and stitching? There were specific patterns used by specific organizations, but I can't see the complete pattern.

Thanks for the pic LDR.
I think I've matched these up correctly now. In Angolia's NSKK/NSFK book, he says the swallows nests for members of the NSKK Musikzüge (marching bands) were white or whitish-grey tress on black wool base.
