Hi everyone,
This badge was gift from a German dealer. I received it for free because it is supposed to be a fake. Any comments where it differs from other "B" marked pieces? Like you can see the pin plate has not the fake "clipped" edges.

Many dealers & collectors stay away from any "B" marked badges due to the reason that it has been a favoured mark for fakers since the early 1970's. Whether the mark actually existed during the period I cannot say.
Below I have made a poor comparison of two "B" mrked badges, one has been in a collection for at least 30 years, the other bought from a reproduction specialist a couple of years ago. In hand it is easy to see how close the pebbling matches on both badges, unfortunately it is difficult to see on a scanner, but I have ringed a couple that can be seen. I hope that it shows up on other screens....
The maker mark is also close on the reverse, the glare from the scanner makes it look slightly different unfortunately.
Compared to the one you show, these are very different, so I would hope that your one has a better chance of being good.
Cheers

Here are two Hitlerbewegung's that I am confident are original.
One unmarked, the reverse is much more concave than usually seen on standard badges (I have lightened the image to show the pebbling better)
The other, an 18mm version. Different font, but on that size it would be hard to do.

Thanks for looking, Don. The quality it the only thing that speaks in benifit of my badge. The badge is a bit larger then a common party pin. I guess 25mm and only a very little bit concave. that is doubtfull I guess? It also has a realtive small pin (but sturdy. It doesn't wiggle). I'm afraid it will always be a difficult example. That's the reason why I get it for free from a German dealer at the moment I asked him for buying it.

Just because the reverse of yours isn't as concave as my unmarked one should not be a problem, remember that they were made by different makers. Each maker would have their own characteristics.
Of the "B" marked Hitlerbewegung badges I've seen, yours has more chance of being good than most that I have seen.
Cheers

Here's another unmarked example that I am confident is original. The reverse is not concave like the other badge, but check out the serif, or down stroke on the letter "S" in NSDAP. The other unmarked badge also has the serif, but smaller.
The fake "B" badges do not have this at all however, Wim's badge does, although much samller.
