I had the chance to visit the Australian War Memorial in Canberra Australia last year, and was enthralled at the exibitions

several rooms were dedicated to the Aussie 'digger' of the First World War

This uniform still had the mud from Gallipoli dried on it,and the display an exausted digger mired in the mud was wrenching

These items were Manfred Von Richtofen's triplane, i could imagine his tumbs on the triggers of the control stick

these pics have hardly scratched the surface of the treasures this musuem holds. if you ever get the chance to vist,its a trip of a lifetime

Hi Scott, my Mother in Law visited the museum while over in Oz and she said Lez and I would have loved it. I can certainy see why she said that from your photos. Thanks for showing them.

thanx bob! i could have spent a week there, they had several large artillery pieces that caught my eye,as well as the Komet,Zero and ME109 in the aviation section

Excellent pictures. Looks like a great museum. I understand that there are only 2 original WW1 German built Albatros fighters left in the world. One is in the Smithsonian in Washington DC, (seen that one). The other one is in Australia. Is it in this museum? If so, did you happen to get any pictures.
