I don't think I would be wrong in saying that this is almost, if not mint!!

One of my favourite badges.

Absolutely stunning Allan! Yours is really nice, and with an intact wreath. I have seen many GWLs with the wreath cracked at the rivet point. No doubt due to the deep impact of the rivets on such a fragile material as zink.

Do you know what I like on this forum! Some of the more advanced collectors make the effort to take their digital camera and are prepared to show their best of the best collectibles. :001_rolleyes: Something not happen, or less happen on other forums.

Regards, Wim :)

Gentlemen,

As a first-time poster here at the forum, I'd have to say that it would be delightful
to see the quality of information and photos be kept to the highest standards, as this thread is. (and that's not to dissuade any of us who might not be camera-pros, either)

A first-rate place to learn and grow is the most important thing.

A quick look-round and I already see some familiar top-notch collectors gathering here. I'm looking forward to seeing this forum develop into a new milestone
and set a higher standard for military forums all over the web.
That would truly be something of value for all of us.

Wishing all of you the very best with your individual collecting interests!

Hi Allan,

lovely set you´ve got there. To bad that it lost it´s silver finish.
Check this out (not mine btw) from my files

Seems like the wreaths were issued in silver and black.

I have a pair of Juncker Paras, one is nickel-silver and one is oxydized. I always thought, why make a beautiful nickel-silver badge, and then finish it black. Tombak, well, that's a different story.

Excellent examples posted,
Mark

The two tone contrast makes for a very classy look on these. One of my favorite badges.
