Here is my P38, deact of course with me being in the UK.
Serial number 3924K. (December 1943.)
Maker marked ‘CYQ’ for "Spreewerk GmbH Berlin - Spandau".
Being a later war produced gun, standards dropped, so note the crude milling marks evident to the slide.
As with all my weapons I like to have full mags. The 9mm rounds are original German wartime dated, but rended inert with no powder and the primers made safe.
Cheers, Ade

Very nice Adrian. It is too bad you can not own an operative model in the UK. The P-38 is fun to shoot. Even a non shooter is a joy to have in my book.

Henry

Hi Henry, thanks for your comments.
I did get to finally shoot one in June. I went to Austria to stay with collector friends  Amounst other weapons, I also get to fire P08 Luger and AK47. I really enjoyed this as you can imagine. I was entered in the pistol shooting competition at the local range where we went shooting. I had never shot pistol before. I came a respectable 17th out of 32 entrants. So I felt quite pleased with myself :D
Cheers, Ade.

Hi Ade,
Did you know that keeping the mags full all the time weakens the spring?
Cheers,

Adrian, Ya should be pleased. You did extremely well. Good shootin, imagine what you could do with regular pratice. BTW: nice pistol too and I really enjoyed looking at 2nd Guards link. Never been to a battle re-inactment, looks pretty interesting and might have to check one out sometime if given the opportunity. Thanks/regards- Mike

Nice Ade. My uncle brought back a byf model from Europe with an i serial number range. I managed to "inherit" this one a few years back. Due to myself living in a city, I have yet to ever shoot it .... I guess I'd better one of these days.

Hi Andy, that sounds great
Hi Mike, if you do get the chance to attend an event do take it up. They are fun and you can really get a different insight into how some of the gear worked. If I ever move overseas it will be to a country where I could shoot with freedom.
Hi Darrell, you have got to take it out to a range and have a go with it. Having one brought back by a relative is fantastic.
Cheers, Ade.
