Need Help With This British Medal

Can anyone identify the medal that is on the viewer's left in this medal pair?
I'm referring to the one that looks like it is a royal cypher.

I'm sorry but you have me beat. I will watch the thread with interest though as I am intriguedto find out what it is. Do you know who the person is in the photo as that might be another starting point, perhaps a long service medal for a particular company? I must admit I was thinking of a corronation medal at first but can't find it.

It is either the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve Decoration or the Royal Naval Reserve Decoration depending on ribbon color. From the B&W picture I think it is the RN Reserve Decoration. The other one would be the Transport Medal.
