I am presenting here a grouping of 24 documents which relate to Oberfeldwebel Rudolf Gosau, a bordfunker in 2. Staffel (Fern) Aufklarungsgruppe 122.
I will start by presenting the actual documments and then information on the notable signatories and also additional information gleaned as a result of the research.
This is the first Luftwaffe grouping I have purchased and have enjoyed the research aspect very much.
I hope that showing this grouping may prove of interest.
Regards Richard.

ii) Deutsches Reichs Sportabzeichen in Bronze
Facsimilie signature of Reichssportführer Hans von Tschammer und Osten.
Hans von Tschammer und Osten (October 25, 1887 in Dresden, Kingdom of Saxony - died March 25, 1943) was a German sport official, SA leader and a member of the Reichstag. He was married to Sophie Margarethe von Carlowitz.
Hans von Tschammer und Osten led the German Sports Office Deutscher Reichsausschuss für Leibesübungen (DRA) "German Imperial Commission for Physical Exercise" after the National Socialist seizure of power in 1933. In July the same year Hans von Tschammer took the title of Reichssportführer, "Sports Leader of the Reich" and the entire sports sphere in Germany was placed unter his power. He re-established the organization he led, transforming it into the Sports governing body of the Third Reich, Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen (DRL) "Sports League of the German Reich". In 1937 it was renamed Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen "National-Socialist Sports League of the German Reich". von Tschammer held the high-profile post of Reichssportführer until his death in 1943.
Hans von Tschammer und Osten, however, would never see the end of the organization he had led for so long. He also would never see Germany losing World War II, as he died from pneumonia in Berlin in 1943. Von Tschammer was succeeded as Reichssportführer by Arno Breitmeyer.
Of notable interest I learnt: The name of today's DFB-Pokal, (Deutscher Fußball-Bund-Pokal "German Football-Federation Cup", first contested in the 1934-35 season during von Tschammer's tenure as Reichssportführer, was known as Hans von Tschammer und Osten-Pokal ("Tschammerpokal") until it was last played in Nazi Germany in 1943. Many other innovative improvements regarding the organization of sports events that von Tschammer's formidable Reich Sports Organ introduced, like the Olympic torch relay, are still in use today.

vii) Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse (Iron Cross 2nd Class)
x) Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse (Iron Cross 1st Class)
Ink signatures of Generalfeldmarschall Albert Kesselring.
One of only 27 men to be awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds.
Ritterkreuz (Knights Cross) 30-September-1939 as General der Flieger und Chef der Luftflotte 1
Eichenlaub (Nr 78) (Oakleaves) 25-February-1942 as Generalfeldmarschall und Oberbefehlshaber Süd (Heeresgruppe C)
Schwerter (Nr 15) (Swords) 18-July-1942 as Generalfeldmarschall Oberbefehlshaber Süd (Heeresgruppe C)
Brillanten (Nr 14) 19-July-1944 as Generalfeldmarschall und Oberbefehlshaber Süd(Heeresgruppe C)
Albert Kesselring was born on 30-November-1885, became a Luftwaffe Generalfeldmarschall, nicknamed "Smiling Albert" by the Allies and "Uncle Albert" by his troops, he was recognised as one of the most popular generals of World War II with the rank and file and one of the most skilful generals of the Wehrmacht.
Kesselring joined the Heer as an officer cadet in 1904, serving in the artillery. He completed training as a balloon observer in 1912 and during World War I, he served on both the Western and Eastern fronts and was posted to the General Staff, despite having not attended the War Academy.
Kesselring remained in the Heer after the war but was discharged in 1933 to become head of the Department of Administration at the Reich Commissariat for Aviation, where he was involved in re-establishing the aviation industry and laying the foundations for the Luftwaffe. In 1936, he became Chief of Staff of the Luftwaffe but resigned in 1938 over personal and professional differences with his superior, Erhard Milch.
He commanded air forces in the invasions of Poland and France, the Battle of Britain, and Operation Barbarossa. As Commander-in-Chief South, he was overall German commander in the Mediterranean theatre, which included the operations in North Africa. Kesselring conducted a stubborn defensive campaign against the Allied forces in Italy until he was injured in an accident in October 1944. In the final campaign of the war, he commanded German forces on the Western Front. He won the universal respect of his Allied opponents for his military accomplishments, but his record was marred by alleged massacres committed by troops under his command serving in Italy.
After the war, Kesselring was tried for war crimes and sentenced to death. The sentence was subsequently commuted to life imprisonment. A political and media campaign resulted in his release in 1952, ostensibly on health grounds. He was one of only two Generalfeldmarschalls to publish his memoirs, entitled 'Soldat Bis Zum Letzten Tag' (A Soldier to the Last Day).
Albert Kesselring died at Bad Nauheim, West Germany on 16-July-1960 at the age of 74. He was given a quasi-military Stahlhelm funeral and buried in Bergfriedhof Cemetery in Bad Wiessee. Members of Stahlhelm acted as his pall bearers and fired a volley of rifle shots over his grave. His former chief of staff Siegfried Westphal, spoke for the veterans of North Africa and Italy, describing Kesselring as "a man of admirable strength of character whose care was for soldiers of all ranks". General Josef Kammhuber spoke on behalf of the Luftwaffe and Bundeswehr, expressing the hope that Kesselring would be remembered for his earlier accomplishments rather than for his later activities. Also present were the former SS Oberstgruppenführer Sepp Dietrich, the ex-Chancellor Franz von Papen, Generalfeldmarschall Ferdinand Schörner, Grossadmiral and former Reichspräsident Karl Dönitz, Otto Remer, SS Standartenführer Joachim Peiper, and former Ambassador Rudolf Rahn.
In 2000, a memorial event was held in Bad Wiessee marking the 40th anniversary of Kesselring's death. No representatives of the Bundeswehr attended, on the grounds that Kesselring was "not worthy of being part of our tradition". Instead, the task of remembering the generalfeldmarschall fell to two veterans groups, the Deutsche Montecassino Vereinigung (German Monte Cassino Association) and the Bund Deutscher Fallschirmjäger (Association of German Paratroopers). To his ageing troops, Kesselring remained a commander to be commemorated.

Noted Luftwaffe historian David Wadman, author of the exhaustive 2 volume set 'Aufklarer - Luftwaffe Reconnaissance Aircraft and Units 1935 - 1945' kindly provided 2 images of Me 410 aircraft serving with 2. (F) /122 for use in providing a suitable display for this document grouping.
"On 26-November-1943, Messerschmitt Me 410, F6+QK, W.Nr 10253 of the 2.(F)122, was carrying out a reconnaisance sortie of the area around Foggia, Bari, Termoli, when it was attacked by allied fighters. Leaving pilot Ofw. Arthur Kammberger, little option other than to force-land his crippled aircraft on the banks of the Sangro River where he and second crewmember Uffz. Vitus Mirlbach, were made prisoners of war "

"In early June 1944, the 2.(F)/122 flew two 3000th missions, the first taking place on 6th June when Messerschmitt Me 410 F6+QK crewed by Oblt. Herbert van den Daele and Uffz. Blaschek, departed from Perugia at 0510 hrs and returned approximately 2 hours later only to suffer a major accident on its return. The Staffel then completed the second of these missions two days later when Messerschmitt Me 410 F6+KK, illustrated in the accompanying photograph, returned tom Perugia just prior to 0500 at the completion of an early morning sortie on 08 June."

Oberstleutnant Fritz Koehler
Oberstleutnant Roman Schneider
Oberleutnant Kurt Eulenberger
I am also looking for any photographs or digital images showing the 2 Staffel abzeichen on any aircraft type.
Identification of Signatories
Also looking to positively identify the signatories on the documents listed below. I realise that many will be a long shot however, to find the answer, sometimes you have to ask the question.

This is the first Luftwaffe related grouping which I have purchased and I have to admit that I have enjoyed the research aspect very much indeed.
The grouping itself is obviously not complete with some major components missing, namely his Soldbuch, Wehrpass and documents for the DKiG and Ehrenpokal however, the remainder of the documents still provide a good illustration of his military career.
I will keep an eye out for these missing pieces however, I am realistic in the knowledge that finding any of them is a long shot indeed.
I hope that posting this group has proved to be of interest.

Thank you for the words of encouragement Mike.
The research is still proving (small) dividends. I have found out a few snippets of information concerning Oberstleutnant Roman Schneider, namely he was Gruppenkommandeur (Fern) Aufklärungsgruppe 122 from September 1942 until March 1943, when he was subsequently assigned to Fernaufklärungsgeschwader 101.
Alas, still no photograph however, I will keep on trying.
Thanks again.

I will gladly post some pictures my grandfather took.
Of course, I went through the reports but I have seen sorties of Franz Borrmann only from January 1944 although I am quite sure he was flying in November and December 1943.
To another point I would like to know if there are any 2.F122 survivors who are still alive.

Very impresseive Richard! :thumbup1:
I like groupings like this very much!
I had a chance to get a superb grouping a few years ago, but the price was too high! It had medals and the documents.
Cheers and thanks for sharing,
