A little know museum tucked away in the north of the city (probably due to the limited opening hours). Split over 3 or 4 floors (can't quite remember exactly how many now) but on the top floor is hidden the Third Reich DRK section.
The guides are very helpful & enjoy explaining the various items. We visited last August (2008) & were the first British visitors they's ever had!!!!
Rotkreuz-Museum (Red Cross Museum)

90489 Nuremberg
Opening times:
Wednesday: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Every 2nd and 3rd Saturday of the month: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and by appointment

Finally a tin box. There were hindreds of other items that I just didn't have the time to photograph, we were there long after closing (as I said the staff were very nice).
If anyone wants to see more dtails shots of any of these let me know, I had to crop them to fit them.

Hi Don, well, I had never even heard of this Museum either!
There are some great items on display, I do like the beer stein and the chocolate tin.
I was interest too in the glass (?) shaped like a foot.
Cheers, Ade.

Its a nice museum. Do you know a internet site that i can learn a little more about the Red Cross in TR?

I'm afraid not, very little has been produced on this area. There is a book by Angolia which features uniforms etc called In the service of the Reich, but most of the book is taken up with diplomatic stuff.
Cheers

The glass shaped "like a foot" is a beer glass. Says something about, 70 years of can't read the rest! Boot shaped beer glasses are quite common over here.

Don, thanks so much for the heads up on this wonderful museum displays. Probably the best concentation of DRK items that I have ever heard of and well displayed.
Did you speak with the curators and what was their attitude concerning TR items?
