Hello guys,
For my first post here  i would like to share with you a very rare item:
A ausweis for a woman that worked at Ravensbruck Concentration Camp was a SS auxiliary.
The real owner is Marianne Minges, and she is cited in the book "Camp Women" by Daniel Patrick Brown.

She's kind of pretty,,,for a monster!
I saw one just like this at the last SOS. It went for big bucks! It's a very rare piece and not many survived ,especially in this condition..Congrats.....

Hello Carlos,
I remember this Ausweis on a certain site some time ago.......I am sure you are familiar with this site http://www.holocaustresearchproject.org/othercamps/ravensbrucke.html
Indicates that the signature is that of SS Hauptsturmführer Fritz Suhren.
Thanks for showing it!

Yes, this was offered for sale here: http://www.usmbooks.com/index_rare_ss-papers.html
I tossed around the idea of buying it for some time, but the price was just way more than I was willing to pay. Glad I know where it went!

Clevischi:
You have nothing to worry about in regards to the originality or authenticy of this SS Female KL Ravensbruck Ausweis - all is 100% correct and unquestionable.
What is unique about these specific Female SS KL Ravensbruck Ausweis is that each was individually hand signed by Lagerkommandant Fritz Suhren during his time there, and do not just exhibit a fascimilie stamp of his signature.
Congratulations of a very nice and rare piece of KL history.

Carlos, this ID is from the aunt of a good friend who currently lives in Hainfeld (Pfalz). Marianne was his favorite aunt as a child until he learned of her function in his later years. The family is interesting in that his father was Waffen SS (GvB), his uncle SS Kriegsberichterstatter Huth and his grandfather (Minges) was a politische Leiter. His father passed away a few years ago and lost both legs near Metz after his basic training in Prague. A number of years ago they poured concrete on their terrace to cover the inlaid swastikas, and he gave me his grandfathers imperial navy Reservistenkrug who I passed on to a collector friend who now lives in San Antonio, Texas.
