Hi guys,
On Saturday there will be an auction featureing some ww2 tinnies, flags
and some misc other stuff.
This is just a small local auction. I normally would not be to interested
these items but because we NEVER see this kind of stuff turn up locally
I thought I would go check it out.
I have never really looked at TR tinnies and pins SO I am wondering if
you guys would mind looking at some photos and letting me know if any
of these items are worth picking up.
These are the only pictures provided show I am sure it's hard to tell 100%
but if you could comment ---that would be great.

Greg, flags I know little about. The eagle on the half circle is a Heer sports shirt emblem. It's backwards in the pic.
The large black Eagle, no idea.
This link will tell you much about the HJ membership pin.

The Frauenschaft members badge appears to have all it's enamel present. The upside down badge beside it NS Kriegsopversorgung (Org. for war victims welfare), appears to have enamel in the cross arms. I have not seen an example with enamel before. Interesting even if chipped.
The 1942 police day donation tinnie and the other two are not high dollar tinnies.

Thanks Joe.
What would be a fair price to bid on the FJ badge?

The HJ members badge? If a cap badge or a membership pin possibly the same value. A HJ knife handle insert different value.
All I could find for sale at the moment are in this link.

Hi Greg, all look fine. The only thing I don't know about is the eagle shown in the second to last pic. Never seen anything like this one before.
As Joe says they are all fairly low value and common items. I can relate to your story. It is odd, if you saw these at a big show you would walk straight past, but the thought of finding them locally often means you give them a second look and think about buying.
Cheers, Ade.

I got back from the auction a couple hours ago. Most things went
fairly cheap. I did a bunch of searching one estand and other places
trying to get an idea of prices so I (for the most part) kept within
my budget and only picked up a few items.
I got the HJ badge, the Frauenschaft badge and the Luft eagle. The
other Tinnies (sports and police) were going for $20-$25each and that was
way too much in my opinion. The flags were all small, sized roughly
12in X 24in. They went for about $35 each.
The bayonet was NICE. All numbers matching and in beautiful condition.
It went for $150. A good price but more than I was willing to spend.
The best part of the day was that I took my old neighbor with me. He is a
ww2 vet and was on Gen. Patton's staff. He has only a slight interest
in my collecting german stuff. He collects fishing tackel (:confused1:)
To each their own--I guess. He Spent $260 on one old fishing lure.
I told him he was NUTS. When we got out to the car he told me that this
was some really rare fishing lure and it was valued at $4000 on the collectors
market and he'd been hunting for one for 30 years. He had a much better
day than I did. But it was nice to spend the afternoon with him and listen
to some old war stories.

Congratulations, Greg. They look like nice pieces!!
Interesting about your neighbour. Who would have thought a fishing lure could be worth 4000 bucks!!

Hi Greg, glad you made a few buys. Sounds like you had a good day out.
We need to id that eagle now.
Cheers, Ade.

I think the eagle is just a fantasy piece. It measures roughly 23cm.
wingtip to wingtip and 20cm. tall. It is cast out of a vary light weight
metal--I don't think it's aluminum. Zinc maybe. It has a couple holes
in the wings for screwing or nailing it to a wall. Fairly poor detail.
It is completely unmarked.

Greg, thanks for the post auction sum up. Glad you picked up some pieces. The eagle I have no idea on. IMO also $20.00-$25.00 for the tinnies would have been high. The bayonet went fairIMO.
Wish I had some old wood fishing lures. :D
