Hi Guys, this is the early pattern of Soviet paratoopers badge. I was very pleased to acccuire this nice example a few years ago, Sadly the screwback is a replacement and might be East German, but I am happy to live with that, untill a new one can be found.
Note the low issue number to the reverse.
The Soviets were pioneers of Airborne warfare. Many of you may have seen newsreels of guys sliding down the wings to leave the aircraft!
