Hi
This an item that I am really fond of. It is the military GPB that was given to Oberführer Georg Aumeier.
The reason I am so fond of it may seem somewhat strange to many collectors, but Aumeier was only the third recipient of the SS-Zivilabzechen after Hitler (Nr#1) and Himmler (Nr#2). As you may have realised, I am very interested in these pins!
Aumeier was born in 1895 and was one of the old guard of the SS, joining in 1928 (SS Nr# 1,237) and the Party in March 1926.
He was a veteran of WWI in which he was badly injured. These injuried resulted in partial disability which affected the amount of work he could undertake. This was to hamper him in his service in the SS and went into retirement at the end of the summer of 1944.
A one time adjutant to Himmler, Aumeier was also a Blood Order recipient (Nr#586).
Here are a couple of images of the badge.
