Once again another item which is widely reproduced today. The example illustrated below is from my collection and has direct Veteran provenance. It was brought home by a Royal Navy Veteran in 1945.
This armband was a last ditch effort and was produced by screen printing.
They were produced by many different manufacturers and as a result they differ in small details to the design, shape to the eagles, swastika wreath, etc.
For once, crudity in construction does not mean the item is a reproduction!
Note the colour of the thread used in this example to join the armband together.
Cheers, Ade.

Hi Ade!!!! I have one of these too. Mine was given to me by a close friend about 10 years ago and i have to believe its the real deal. It looks pretty much the same as yours in style and condition however its not seperated. By that i mean its a continious band. I don't know if that means anything or not, perhaps just a mfg. variation??? Anyhow, its great seeing you here. Hope you're well.......best, Rich

Hi Rich, welcome to the forum!
I would love to see you armband if you have any pics?
My example has simply come unstitiched, as it was once sewn together.
Cheers, Ade.

Great looking armband - any tips on how to tell originals from repros? I see these for sale quite often, but don't know what to look for with this one and am hesitant to buy without any knowledge.
Regards

Hi Russ, to the best of my knowledge no one has made any kind of comprehensive study of these?
As I mentioned earlier, I have seen many slightly different patterns of these armbands in terms of eagle design details etc.
I would say blacklight any example first then compare to others shown as original on different forums. Note the thread colour used on mine. I have observed this on another verified Vet bring back armband.
Cheers, Ade.
