Hi everyone,,im kinda knew here and wanted to share my TK HONOR RING.
It is a NIGHT OF THE LONG KNIVES RING. The date is 30.6.34 and its owner was VOGT. I have had it papered by DON BOYLE. I am thinking about upgrading very very soon, and wanted to show it off and see what you all thought.I love to find them and keep upgrading until ive got a superb specimen like some of the nice people here have. Go ahead and shoot me your opinions and such as stated might be looking to upgrade in the future and want to know more of it and basicly show it off to anyone who may be looking for one in the future. If you have any questions, feel free to email me,, at SFORACING@SBCGLOBAL.NET as I would love to find out and see if possibly I could narrow down the field on who the owner was, as we believe it to be HEINRICH VOGT. Let me know your thoughts,,,sincerely,,,tom

I have found the paperwork on this ring and DON BOYLE certified it.
If anyone has any info or wants to be put into a file for the future possible purchase of it sometime in the future let me know. I am definitely upgrading this week so if someone knows more of the VOGT RING it would be super.
I am buying another ring its called THE HOFMANN RING. THis ring just could be OTTO HOFMANNS ring, but we cannot verify it although regardless the ring im upgrading too has quite a bit of interest in it and some high ranking SS OFFICERS to boot..talk to me guys and gals,,thanks,,tom

Oh, and Don said the better the job on the ring THE LESS YOU SEE the seam behinde the skull.
There is no question to this rings authenticity as its gots dons paperwork and he will also do the next upgrade of the HOFMANN RING as well..My collection is growing too fast,,hee,,im just blessed I guess, anyone interested with info or wanting to be put on a future list let me know..tom

I know this is very worn but the SS OFFICER who I believe owned it could be from the LAH. I have no proof yet but am asking you all to help. I have had MCDIVITT help but its not going well, although he is wonderful at his job and nice to boot, we just cannot verify it. I understand that this ring being the FIRST YEAR for an AWARD that these rings are very very soft and wear badly, but when an SS OFFICER gets awarded a ring and on the NIGHT OF THE LONG KNIVES to boot, he was probably a proud SS OFFICER.
There is no proof he got the ring from his participation in the NOTLK but someday it will be proven someway I hope..Thanks and hope everyone likes it and stirs up some interest..Thanks,,tom SFORACING@SBCGLOBAL.NET

Whats the year and date on the Hofmann ring and what indicates it may have been Otto's?

Early pattern rings its usually very hard to see the seam,,some you'll see nothing,,,doesn't mean their bad though!

Hi,,,I have bought the HOFMANN RING. It will be here soon.
Do I have any proof of it being OTTOS no,,but there are only 4 men who could have gotten this one and OTTO is definitely one of them.
The others are high rankers and one EARLY SS #. This ring is a super find and well my wife just wont let me have TWO of them,hee...So,there you have it,anyone interested in talking about the VOGT 30.6.34 ring, please do not hesitate to ask me anything,,you have my email address, but if not here is my address,,,, SFORACING@SBCGLOBAL.NET
thanks,,tom

Hi,,this ring is PAPERED so there is NO CONFUSION regarding on its authenticity. The better the rings manufacture the LESS of a seam you shall see. Some rings you see you cannot see the seam unless you know a trick or two or have the LUPE in hand. This ring is one of those that is worn, but super made and thus having a seam that is almost not able to be seen. Forget not that the early ring as this is was made with more a pure silver and thus will wear more, and especially since the ring IN MY OPINION is a man who may have took part in the NIGHT OF THE LONG KNIVES he may very well have been a PROUD SS OFFICER and wore this ring ALL THE TIME. Hence the wear of it.
The skull is super and has all GAHR traits to it,along with a superior engraving job. I will be hoping to soon have this one go to a lucky person as the wife will not allow me to have TWO rings,,so if anyone wishes to be placed on a list for the future chance to buy it, let me know..You have my email address and hope to have more people inquire about the VOGT ring and possibly help identify it to one lucky ss officer..THanks,,tom

Tom: Nice to see you posting and on the forum. Welcome!!!!! First on the seam just because you do not see one does not make it bad but here is a little trick when it is difficult to see or find. If you put the ring in the palm of your hand and hold it up eye level and look behind the skull in many instances it pops right out at you because you eliminate the space under the ring with your palm were if you hold it between two fingers there is light from the bottom and top comming through making it difficult in some cases to see, bottom line though is just because it does ot have a seam does not make it bad as a collector from Florida found out many years ago when he did not see the seam he used a torch with high heat behind it and the skull fell off destroying a perfectly original Honor Ring. As for the Hofmann ring as I told Tom there were about 18 men who were listed on the 1935 Deinstaltersliste with the same last name and we narrowed it down I believe to 6 officers who recieved the ring in 1934. Also like I told Tom from the pictures posted on E-bay the ring is probably good but would need to see it in person to be 100% sure like I tell everyone but from the photos if I did not have a ring I would take the chance as they appeared to be very good photos to take the chance . Tom as far as Mr. McDivitt goes I had many people come up to me at the SOS Show and tell me how he takes to long to do the research and sometimes never responds to thier e-mails when they ask questions. Even me and a few of my friends have had some problems with him in the past and also in my opinion find that sometimes he does not go far enough to get the maximum research for the money I was paying and others have told me the same. This is my personal opinion and what people have told me at the Max Show and the SOS show this year. Anyone out there wanting research done I have found the man who goes the extra mile as far as research goes, gets high quality photos when possible and is very fast and reliable and fair with his pricing. He even professionally binds everything for you. He has helped me out and Military Nut out in the past and has never failed to provide fast high end quality service. His name is ROSS and he can be reached at ( WWW.SSDAGGERS.COM ). He has provided me and Military Nut with a free list of SS Blood Order winners and other list to. I can say without a dought if anyone can narrow down or help you find out who the Hofmann ring is to it would be him Tom. He might not be able to do it being there are so may who recieved the ring in 1934 but he is the person I would want to do my research as he is the best from all the people I have used in the past and goes the extra mile. Tom good luck with the ring when you get it . RIC I have sent you 2 e-mails today but have not heard back from you yet . Yes I have recieved your package and we will talk soon my friend. As for everyone else like Robin L. and Gaspare it is always nice to get on a forum like this were everyone is positive and up-beat about the hobby of collecting in general instead of what you see on other forum sites were people are out for blood. Remember we don't always agree on everything and that is OK we are human and constructive critisism on any topic is OK as long as it stays constuctive instead of what you see on other forum sites which is Destructive which only hurts this great hobby many of us love so much. So happy hunting and thank you all for sharing your thoughts with people such as me as it is always a great help and interesting to read what you write or pictures that you post.Best Wishes Don Boyle

Don,

I'm very happy to hear that : so far I've not received your replies and I was a bit worried about, but now you confirm the ring has arrived safely I feel well.
Btw, your suggestion about ROSS as researcher is very interesting and I will keep it in mind for the ring you just received.....even if I do not know if it got your blessing :confused1: : I'm looking forward to receive your comment by email.

Ric

Hi

It looks like a well worn original to me. I know I looked at the Vogt's available and could not make an informed judgment as to which Vogt was awarded the ring. I hope Robert can find something more definitive for you.

Ric : I have sent you two e-mails. I need your address and country to send the ring back and also who you wish the certification made out to. Please e-mail me this information , by the way the good news in my professional opinion Ric it is a well worn nice original Honor Ring congratulations also it now confirms what I have thought all along that the 24.12.33 first dated and issued Honor Rings came with the Roman Numeral in place of the month and also as in your ring with the numerical number for the month as shown above so they could be engraved 24.X11.33 or 24.12.33 -- This also appears on the 1934 dated rings with the number for the month and also the Roman Numeral fo the month 30.6.34 and 30.V1.34. Ric I can also tell you from the engraving on your Honor Ring along with the other two I have seen that all three were engraved by the same person in 1933. When I send it back I would appreciate it if you take quality pictures of it and send them back to me so I might use them when I up-date my Honor Ring book. Tom also when you recieve your ring give me a call. All for now. Best Wishes Don Boyle

Thanks again
