My first TR item since my first and last ones in 2006. I got it for a great price.

I was surprised to see how many things it contains and how well the condition is.

Its a School atlas, Printing and Publishing by H. Wagner & E. Debes, published in 1937, in Leipzig.
It was writen by Professor Dr. Paul Schlee and it has 116 pages.

The book has two words in the first page and i hope somebody can tell me what they are. I would love it to be the boy's or girl's name. Check pictures for detailed photo on the words.

Well, it contains MANY things and MANY maps. Take a look at the photos. From political maps, to street maps of New York, London, Paris... and it even has a constellations map and a map of the moon.

I dont have a scanner but please, if you want more photos on a particular thing, let me know! I will try to post the index of the atlas soon. I guess i'll have to write it here because taking a photo of it it's hard.
I got another thing for free with the purchase that i will post in a separate thread.

Thanks guys, im very happy with it.

Yeah, i will spend a lot of time looking at it since there are many arrows in the maps to Uruguay!! It says some stuff, but i have no clue what it is.
I will try to translate with time the titles of the index to know what it has, but i will never understand the texts completely. There's such much info. The only way to understand all would be learning german hehe.
I didn't post all the images for obvious reasons. There are 116 pages! When i get the content of the index, i will post it and will take a photo on requests from those interested in something of the book.

The quick deal...yes...That is what i like from the website i saw it on. It's for uruguayans, and there's no need for internet payments and shipments. The seller lived in a nearby neighbourhood and i had the chance to see it in person before buying.
In that website i also bought in 2006 a deathcard of a WWII german soldier, which, btw, is also posted in this forum.
I browse it periodically, and it surprises me to find these bargains, since most or all militaria pieces there (particularly, medals) are 2x, 3x times their actual price! (imagine the rarity of these pieces being down here!)
I have no clue how he got it. I asked him..."how did this end up here (hoping for a story behind it) but he just said.."well, you know how it works..someday it shows up here"

Anyway...Im shocked to see how BIG Germany is!

Hello,

Great to have such a map. I have seen, when I still collected, another one, but I cannot remember it was from the same publisher.
I think the word could be the boys (or girls) name: Bremse (to be translated as "Brake"). The abbreviation posibly stands for Oberklasse III.B. This can be a higher class of a secondary school (Oberschule) or so.

Thank you a lot, Wilhelm!
It makes sense!!! It will be impossible to research the owner with just those two words, but it's nevertheless a very interesting aspect of the book.

Thanks, Bob!!

I am now in the process of transcribing all the Index for a Google Translation and then post it here. I didnt thought it was going to be that hard....transcribing words and letter combinations i never thought they existed! I have to be careful not to do typing mistakes.

Hi Santi

That is a nice Atlas that looks to be for a high school given the detail.

I love to look at these texts and compare with what has changed with today.

I can see you having many hours of fun with your latest buy:thumbup:
