This is one of my latest finds. Not sure what it is, but it reminds me the DJ. Could it be? Regards

Hello,
In my opinion this one does not have to do with Deutsches Jungvolk, even if this is thought by the entire collecting-community!
In one of my catalogues (dated April 10, 1933): "Ratgeber führ fahrt und Lager", from W.Nufer from Offenbach am Main, the supplyer for German (youth) unions, this one is mentioned to be for the "Deutscher Pfadfinder Bund". It existed also in cloth for the sports-shorts.
On page 17 of this cataloque the buckle was included as DPB-Bundes- Koppelschloss, brass with nickled sigrune. The newest version was a one piece stamped in nickle.
The sigrune was not only used by the nazis.

Hello Wilhelm
do you have a picture or scan of the catalog?
Another collector told me it is a WHW badge from DJH

Can't make a scan at this moment, while a lot of things are packed. I am
restoring one room and my working-room is packed with the material from the other room. Maybe at the end of next week. The drawing is on one page, the buckle on another one. This I know out-of-heart.
For the moment you simply have to believe me and...didn't I give where I did find it?

Hello~
This is WHW related. I do not have my Tieste books handy but I know it is part of a WHW series. I will see what I can find..

Hello,
I never (or hardly ever) quote from a book written after the war. In my opinion too much mistakes. I give my answers from old documentation.
Of course it may be so the rune was later used for this WHW-design, but it was in the earlier thirties also used (by the deutscher Pfadfinder Bund and others) and not a sole use by the nazis.
I did some moving and unpacking to find some material ( may have more I don't doubt), which is included here. The 1931 cataloque from Ufer: cover and two smaller parts. I know the rune (see drawing a) was made in sheet metal and nickled and even available from copper. The various buckles-drawings give some information as well. a) is anyway a look-a-like as the one shown with the start of this thread; and a part of a page from a Steinhauer & Luck cataloque with Pfadfinder-insignia. It has a more square form.

Very interesting to see this Wilhelm, like always. It's possible the were used for both.
Regards, Wim :)
