Nice dagger. The scabbard looks a little rough, but the blade sure looks good.

Thank for the compliment Heers300. Actually the scabbard is not near as bad as it looks in the picture! It still retains approx 85 to 90% of the anodizing. Just a bit of small rust pitting but not deep.

You're very busy with SA daggers lately isn't it. Plans to become a type collector? :D
Regards, Wim :)

Wim. I just take what comes along for a decent price! Haven't had an RZM in quite awhile. Got this pack dagger in a trade for some medals. Medals are kind of scary now because of all the good fakes coming out!

Very nice Pack-note the almost straight across lower crossguard famous in Packs- also nice to have the uncommon "B" for Berlin gau mark on the lower crossguard-Mike

Thanks for the compliment Mike. I read that this type of crossgaurd was typical to a Pack dagger. I also read the B for Berlin was a very common stamping!

IMHO, EPS has always made edged weapons. Looks like a fine example and if the price was right, then right on.
Badges are very sketchy. It takes a LONG time to master a simple area. I've got a library of KM badges. Hundreds of images, catalogued of both good and bad KM. That's only Navy. I wouldn't touch Luft badges without at least a solid year of study and categorizing the good and bad examples. Heer stuff is probably the safest, but still presents challenges in it's own rite.
It took me 2 years to complete my KM badge collection. I was picky and wanted below market prices which I was able to get. Along the way, I had bought 1 bad badge, that fooled many many well respected badge collectors, and another which was questionable inwhich the jury is still out on. Either way, I got rid of thse 2 and upgraded to Schwerin examples which were accepted pieces. I rest assured knowing my KM badges are good. I won't be venturing back into badges for awhile. Perhaps one day i'll try my hand at Luft badges. But not now.
Anyway, good rep. example of EPS SA. Nothing wrong at all with type collecting. Everyone has different tastes which makes the hobby more enjoyeable. I've certainly got a specific area of collecting which I enjoy more than other areas.

Thank You for the compliment Swordfish. I really liike collecting SA daggers because they aren't faked as much as other items unless they are Rzm marked himmler or rohm daggers which seem to be popping more and more. I have a luftwaffe panzer badge that looks very good and seems to me made of silver. These are very controversal because nobody has a picture of one in wear or an award document. I think I will post a thread on the medals section and see if anybody has any idea of this?

Hi Rod-
I saw your badge. These have been around awhile, and i'm of the opinion they are no good. Fantasy badges so to speak. Still sort of cool though. There's a handful of these interesting badges floating around. If I could buy one of each for a reasonable price, i'd buy them for fun. Sort of like the repro daggers. I wish I had kept some of the Holler repros. But the repro Hollers today are not cheap. A nice, Holler Berlin 1st model repro is commanding about $100. It's too bad because they would make nice additions to a legitimate collection. I think Craig G. was collecting repros for awhile. Not sure if he still is or not.
I added a few homemade KM badges..homemade with a little photoshop. We had posted homemade funny badges on GD sometime back and got some good laughs out of everyones creativity. Mine were converted Destroyer badges...check 'em out. They're funny.

I would call the "B" mark uncommon-it was principally on Pack, Haco and Carl Krebs, plus rarely on a few others- they may have made a moderate amount but possibly because the area fell under Russian control post war, not a large amount were released into the collecting world. Mike

Swordfish. I did check out your photo edited badges and they look pretty cool. Thanks for the info on the B marking Mike. I never really thought about the rareity of gau stampings on sa daggers?

As to the "B" Gau stamping for those who don't know it's for Gau Berlin-Brandenburg. Sorry if this was already mentioned earlier and I missed the reference to it's meaning.
