I know these are Veterans badges. The gold one is for the Navy veterans and the silver for army, but can anyone give me more info on these items and to whom they were issued, if that is the right word? Would they have been worn by anyone that fought in WW1. Regards Thomas

Hi Thomas, these are for the "Soldatenbund". This was a short lived WW1 Veterans association formed in 1936 which was incorporated in the the National Socialist State Soldiers League, the NSRKB or Nationalsozialistisches Reichskriegerbund in 1938. They used a very similar design eagle which was a bit smaller and had a right facing eagle's head.
Cheers, Ade.

Hi
Thanks for posting up the set Eduardo as it is nice to see some membership paperwork for this organisation.

Thanks Ade for the info. Very nice set you have Eduardo. Down here it's pretty much impossible to get paperwork with any medals or awards.Anyone else out there got any more samples to show?

On the eagles that I have, the army one has The Ges Gesch label around the wings as seen in the back shot.
The KM version mine has along the wing parallel to the wing feather. I will try to get a better shot to display that.

Hi Medic1. You have nice samples of the same badges mate. The position of markings on mine are exactly as you stated. Could you tell me the material these were made of? Regards Thomas.

I wish I could identify the materials.
I just don't know.
They both are non-magnetic. There is very little I have found on what materials were used to make these awards. I know that they were only used for a brief period of time.
If anyone has any other information, I would like to hear more.
Regards.

Greetings everyone~
I don't pretend to know anything about the the WW1 veterans organizations. Looking over this thread I felt that those who do might like to see this picture. I don't own it. It was for sale, and was sold, on eBay. Since it wasn't copyrighted I elected to post it here so those who are interested can enjoy it and maybe learn from it as well.
I apologize in advance if I have broken any forum rules.
Chuck
