Wasn't sure where to put this as it's a French battleship but I guess the British and Commonwealth bit is more appropriate than the German section.

WWI French Battleship located... (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7898890.stm)

Seems to be in a suprising condition with most of its gun turrets intact which came as a surprise as the ship apparently rolled over when it sank but the turrets don't seem to of become detached.

Thanks Mike, for sharing the link with us. Nice surprise to see a Video of this great ship, Notice the depression on the Map, wonder if this was anything to do with the incident?

Excellent Post this one.

The amount of information that came with it is a pleasant suprise and the condition of the ship is incredable.

Thank you for sharing this.

Cool to read story on the French Danton battleship that was torpedoed by German U-64 in 1917 until its rediscovery of this 19,000 ton Danton at the bottom of Tyrrehian Sea south of Sardinia,Italy. I was amazed about the battleship's remarkable condition on the bottom for over 90 years. It was very fastantasic find!!! I was surprised to see its gun turrets still intact after the ship went down and tumbled all way to bottom until the ship arrived upright. I enjoy reading about the famous shipwrecks. I owns two coins which was salvaged from bottom of the ocean. I have 1944 Saudi silver coin that was salvaged from a WW2 US Liberty ship which rests at 8,000 ft in Sea of Aden off Oman and a 1809 copper coin which was found in a wooden ship which was found in English Channel in 1985. I loves to study shipwrecks!
