Hi Guys, I met up with a Royal Air Force Veteran at a living history event here in the UK two years ago. He had been given this badge by a friend who used to go rifle shooting and remembered it after seeing our display. He kindly sent me the badge and I sent him some money for a few drinks as a thank you. :thumbup1:
The Osoaviakhim was a Para-military civil defence organisation. Voroshilov was one of Stalin's biggest cronies and the ironic thing was he was a lousy shot
The screwback is serial numbered.
These badges were once readily available in the former Soviet Union, but now they are getting hard to find.
As usual, copies now exist, but the quality is not as good as the originals.
Cheers, Ade
