Thanks for the post. Personally I wouldn't touch it. Not just because " it's different" but because of the hundreds of Otto Hoffmen fantasy rainbow pins out there. There is always some scammer out there trying to make a rare piece out of a common one, and the individual ends up making something to deceive the gullible at best. In the process he has ruined his credibility along with an up until then good artifact.

Back to the Otto Hoffman "skittle" pins, when you see them at a show if you can bring yourself to pick up a few......just to look at, notice how they are all aged the same....every single one. Oh, one may have an "age crack" just to add to it's "authenticity" if you're still not convinced. IMO leave the pins and the knives alone, or you (a collector) may be having to forever explain not only the piece to others, but the reasoning for your purchase as well.

I concur Chuck. I would avoid them like the plague.
