Greetings everyone~

I'm a new member and I thought I'd share with everyone one of my favorite sabres. This sabre is a WKC early/mid period example. The hilt base metal is brass with "fire gilded" surfaces. The eagle is heavily plated silver and is pinned to the langet. This was an option on this model. The other choice was a gold eagle. The sabre is mint condition and has an original to-the-piece faustriemen. The faustriemen is an early example using silver bullion instead of the later used aluminum. The sword came to me with it's origional period sword bag. The hand engraving on this example is a wonder to the eyes.

Just a short history here. I've been collecting since the early 70"S, but got serious about 8 years ago now. My interests are many in the hobby of Third Reich collecting, but my passion is blades. I look forward to sharing more of them with you here.

Chuck, that contrasting dark eagle looks stunning. The original untarnished silver would have looked very classy as well.:thumbup1:

Yes, one of the classiest 3rd Reich swords and yours is a beauty. I had one and sold it several years ago. Still kind of regret it although I picked up a beautiful imperial eagle head in its place.

NIce one. A very desireable WKC saber with pinned two toned national symbol. Houston Coates had one for sale about 8 months ago for $550. I should have grabbed it but Paul H was quicker on the draw than I was.

Either way, a very nice looking piece retaining most of it's original gold colored gilting. A very desireable and attractive example.

Hello everyone~

I want to thank all of those who have responded so far And thanks for all of the great comments too. Although not truly rare sabre, it is seldom encountered example. In my opinion, it is one of the most pleasing dove headed hilts produced during the Third Reich. To come with it's original-to-the-piece early Faustrienen and storage bag was a most welcome bonus. It's been a pleasure to share it with all of you.
