Like in Nazi Germany, Mothers of large families were recognised by the State with the award of a medal.
The Soviet version was known as the Order of Maternal Glory.
1st Class-Awarded to Mothers of 9 children.
2nd Class-Awarded to Mothers of 8 children.
3rd Class-Awarded to Mothers of 7 children.
Here we see the 3rd class issue for bearing 7 children. Made of solid silver and in usual Soviet fashion is serial numbered to the recipient.
Three makers varients are known to exist. The hardest to find features a mirror image to the reverse of the bow.
