SS-Heimwehr Danzig

I was looking through a NARA roll earlier and came across a reference to an SS Officer who was awarded the SS-Heimwehr Danzig ehrennadel (see attached images).

Now, according to the information I have, the strength of the unit was only 1,550 in 1939. Thus, it would make it one of the rarest SS awards. I also presume the award came with some form of urkunde.

Does anyone have any SS-Heimwehr Danzig items to post up? I know the badge is heavily faked and seem convincing to the untrained eye.

The one pictures in Detlev Niemann's prize guide (if original) bears number 1627. He also mentions an award document which should have the same serial number as the award.

Here is a Heimwehr Danzig cuff title I have had in my collection a few years ago. It is the officer hand embroidered version. It is denazified but original and in latin script.

Tremendous examples and thanks for taking the time to post them up. I think we have covered all items that would be produced at the time.

The reproduction posted seems very convincing to me, Robin.

If anyone else has any information or examples from SS-Heimwehr Danzig then please do post them up.

Yes realy, its amazing. Here is the only picture from my grandfather in uniform i own. On this wedding picture he wears the SS Ehrennadel. Now i try to find more from him. Thank you both.
