View Full Version : Post your HJ Daggers!

Lets create a good researchable reference thread. You can post your original HJ daggers here (and of course, scabbards too!)
To make this a great DataBase thread, try to post a small serie of photos of the dagger and not just a general photo of the knife if possible. For example: A photo showing the diamond, marker's mark, RZM number, overall of the blade and overall of the grips (if applicable). This will help for further researches on specifc characteristics of the markers, period manufacturing, etc.
One dagger per post please.

Please, refrain from posting fakes or comments. If you want to talk about something regarding a dagger posted here, open a new thread and do so there.

Raymond has pointed out some basic instructions to do so.

Please follow the these instructions carefully to ensure that this becomes an excellent, searchable database of known examples.

When posting images, try to keep your images in one post

As important, write in the title field some details of the badge.

This is very important as it means that the database becomes searchable for other members, rather than a collection of photographs

Many thanks!!!!

Late Eickhorn, 1940. Only 1 left. Like many of the other daggers I have, I intend to keep this one. It came a number of years ago, again at a very good price.

It has one of those wierd "Lilesia" scabbard buttons. I've only seen a couple of these type buttons.

Hi everyone,

A late war Arthur Evertz with zinc plated fittings. It's possible the scabbard recieved a new paint considering its almost flawless condition. However it seems to be done in a professional way. Had a stone mint Blut und Ehre in my hands not so long ago but diden't had the money at that time to buy it :crying:

Also be aware of the HJ resource that Santi, Mike and a few others help create over at WAF. It's probably one of the most complete HJ reference libraries online at this moment. We should do our best to create one here at WWM which parities the thread at WAF. Until ours reaches that magnitude, be sure to check WAFs virtual HJ museum.

Most of my Blades were local finds ..and we are not always lucky enough to find everything in "Mint" condition. I don't mind , in some cases it just adds personality to the item. Besides ..the Kids didn't wear these for Ceremony, they worked them
Here are 3 HJ Knives. I'll start with a double marked "Hartkopf" M7/40
Next is an M7/27 Lauterjung & Sohn 1941 dated ..too bad about the grip

Hi! Arrived today by airmail: an early Eickhorn with motto, as you can see the motto has been erased (real pity!) almost no ricasso, tiny diamond (it wiggles!), the scabbard have been repainted and the upper leather strap with the button is missing (as the scabbard has two runners I think is not the original one). Cheers.

Hello
Here is one of my HJ knives. It is Grebruder Grafrath and RZM marked. Also has the name (I assume the original owner) scratched on the scabbard back. Has single runner scabbard. Still have not mastered how to take a pic of the blades without getting that glare! The grain is better than it appears. Ron

Hey guys,

very interesting thread about the HJ dagger, a field one can go on for "ages" and always will be of interest!
As I do not collect I cannot contribute with an item from my collection, but as far as I remember I haven't seen yet a dagger from the concern of Robert Klaas from Solingen-Ohligs. They had the RZM code M7/37.

I do show the dagger from the 1938-cataloque (which was a cataloque with drawings all over) and the manufacturers trademarking, as used by them.

Hi everyone,

Pictures of the rare Eickhorn HJ leader dagger with its even more rare leather hangers.
Dagger Fittings are made from silvered aluminium. The scabbard is also made from aluminium and coverd with dark blue leather. This dagger was discovered by me early 2010 in a Belgian souvenir grouping and is now in an advanced private collection.

This is my 2nd HJ dagger. The paint is gone on the scabbard, and the blade has been s****ed up a bit, but that's what boys did with their knives....

I have only one other, (with the lesser-seen plastic scabbard strap), but it has no motto. I like this one and I'm happy to give it a new home.

Your comments and opinions are both welcomed and valued, as always.....

Most HJ Leaders that are found (the real ones I mean) have the RZM coded maker marks, and most of these are Horsters. Eickhorn made relatively few HJ Leaders.

I was lucky enough to find this early Eickhorn maker mark, using the 35-41 seated squirrel logo, on a beautiful plated blade.
