Here's my HJ dagger, a gift from a friend, among other things, to help me start my collection. :) It is by far, my best item in my collection.
Its a transitional HJ dagger, M7/68 which corresponds to: Tigerwerk Lauterjung & Co., Solingen
Pics to follow!

Santi,
That was your 1st piece wasn't it? I still have my very first piece. An ACS army dagger, pumpkin grip. I'll never sell it. Period. It was a gift from a relative when they were very ill. They thought they were going to pass away so they figured they'd spend all thier $$ on gifts for family members. fortunately, they made a full recovery. Our first pieces hold a special place in most collectors hearts...even if they are something line a beat up K98 parad bayo or a junky IAB.

Well, its an interesting story actually.
All the original TR items i have (including this HJ), except for the deathcard, were a gift from a friend in WAF.
I went to my first auction on a thursday night and bought my first item ever, the deathcard, from a guy i was supposed to meet there. On the following day, friday, i went to the postal office to get the gift.
So yes, consider it my first items!

I think it's great that a member from WA sent you the HJ as a gift. Very kind of him. I know it can be tough to start up a collection, financially, and also depending on where one lives. Between the lack of stuff in certain countries and the laws of the respective country can make adding any type of weapon a challenge. Here in the US, we can get just about anything without any problem. Only an automatic machine gun requires a special license. So in short, for those Americans who want an MG43, you'll need a class 3. Otherwise, just settle for a semi auto StG44..which would really be pretty cool.

Like Tom, my first edged weapon was an Alcoso Army Officers dagger with a pumpkin colored grip, not in the best condition, but certainly got me started on the road to collecting.
