Hi everyone,

A German living in the States offers a Kiegsmarine dagger. I asked him to send some pictures and I am posting these herewith (in two parts).
I also asked him about the dagger's provenance and I cite him: " the dagger was made 1946 from wkc for us soldiers going home, its in very good condition, comes out of fort polk museum".
I am asking your comments on this item which imo looks a bit dodgy. The first picture already revealed that the dagger is put reversed into the scabbard, but ok, I made that mistake myself when making pictures so that's not such a an issue. But the way the pommel sits on the grip does make me raise an eyebrowe... Anyway, I would gladly take your advise on this one. Many thanks beforehand for any useful info! Cheers, Der Freiwillige

I would be very warry of buying stuff if it was taken out of Ft. Polk museum as its technically army property. Matt

It's not good!. Pommel is completely wrong to call one thing. :scared:

Thought so, and what can you expect for $190.00 after all? I guess it's a poor museum quality replica... Indeed, the pommel looks pretty sloppy (swastika, eagle) and the front also looks very assymetric... Don't like the shine either, looks like polished brass... Blade not in decent condition.
Phew, another couple of bucks saved...
Thanks Wim!
