Hi

Here are some images of my Close Combat Clasp in Gold.

There is little left of the gold and the back has the stamp marks 'A.H' and '27.VIII.44'.

The stamping could have been added later to increase value, but was sold to me on the basis of the condition of the award and not any perceived increase in value due to the stamping.

I have found a couple of A.H's but the dates do not match up.

Anyway, here it is

Hello Raymond

A question regarding the stamped date:
would that date be the date of the ceremony in which AH presented the award?

Hi Ray,

The clasp may well be good, but the letting has me concerned. The clasp in zinc would NOT have been a Presentation Type, awarded by Hitler, Himler, or Guderian. Those particular clasps were only (unmarked) Junckers, and were only ever buntmetal, not zink.

I would guess the letters were added to increase value.

Regards,
Mark
