Party Memberschip Badge Database

I think it is worthwhile to assemble a pictorial database of known party badge manufacturers.

To make it a worthwhile database for other members, can I ask you post according to the following guidelines

Only original period badges posted on the thread please. If you are in any doubt then you should have the badge authenticated on the forum.

In addition, to keep it neat, tidy and ordered, can you keep to images on one badge to one post and type the marker mark number in the Title part.

This way, collectors and students of the area will be able to easily search the thread and make the most use of it.
(By clicking on the post numbers behind the manufacturer names in the database, you have a direct link to the party pin in question)

I look forward to seeing a myriad of examples

Raymond

Hi

Here is an early example Ges Gesch marked piece. The manufacturer is R. Shanes of Wien.

I have only ever encountered another example of this maker on my travels around the forums.

Here is one that has been in the wars somewhat.

The maker mark can be seen on the pin plate. Of course, it may only be the company who repaired the pin plate, so who knows

As you can see, this has had an awful conversion job into a stickpin.

I would prefer to take the glue off, but have never bothered.

Anyway, underneath all that is a a M1/103

Here is a M1/92.

Hi

Another late war painted badge. Not in the same league in terms of quality as the early badges

After reading the post on the first Page, (list of RZM makers) it has again become clear that this list is Partially «copied» from the net, as are most.
Here is a badge to prove my point. And although with a period repair to the needle, a rare form, displaying the whole manufacturers name, as per-RZM pins usually only display the K. of the first name. Here is the name in Full.

A maker that is not discussed here. If any 3 Reich maker of Party pins «did his own thing» then it was Apreck & Vrage of Leipzig. You will find the weirdest of party pins made by them, back to front RZM stamps, spelling mistakes in the actual writing on the obverse, pained broze versions etc etc.. Here is a most strange catch assembly, on a Vrage badge that if it was`nt so convex, would measure 25mm. (Note the RZM mark with the circle not toutching the "M".)

Collecting NSDAP Pins is always good for a surprise. I have two of these, and there is no question whatsoever that they are Original. The question is... WHO produced under the RZM number M1/186.
«a quick note, this badge is not, as some would think, poorly painted, all hand painted badges looked like this, it is just porly buffed. ie:they were not perfectly painted, taking hours i guess, they were all quickly painted, and then afterwards, the excess paint was buffed/ground/polished off and then the entire front was varnished.»

One of the first official NSDAP badges after Hitler reorganized the NSDAP in 1925. This little beauty is close to 17mm, and the reverse is marked Ges.Gesch. The catch assembly plate is marked DRGM (Deutsches Reich Gebrauchs Muster).

Hello Gents~

Here is a party badge that Chuck Alan and I received from a family friend back about 7 years ago. This pre dates the RZM codes and looks to be made of porcelain. The owners initials are scratched into the back "MS", this stands for Max Schoenhoffen (spelling?) the badge owner. We received his party pin, Hindenburg Cross and ribbon bar.

We'd like to know if any of you party badge "guru's" could tell us when this badge was manufactured?

Thanks again!

Very rare Lilliput Party badge from the Zeugmeisterei in Austria. In great condition. Sun ray front design with 60% of the original silverwash remaining. Hard to date, but possibly from 1927-1930. (The Zeugmeisterei in Austria had nothing to do with the 1930`s setting up of Zeugmeistereis in Germany, as at that stage Germany had no power over Austria at all.) The crude Font points to a mid-late 1920`s badge.

Rare and very interesting Sympathy badge by Rudolf Schanes. Early logo, Swastika is mis-shaped and uneven, strange catch system. [Possibly a 1923-1926 made badge for wear in Germany during the Verbotzeit? (the verbotzeit in Austria was from 1933-1938, and that is simply to late for this to be for/from that period~when we consider the other known Schanes badges]

What a Beautiful Period piece...the RZM logo has been changed into BZM, and when we look at the makers number we see why, double, or even tipple struck..a die error if you want..but a charmer. The obverse also shows signs of the die error, but is nicely enameled.
A badge like this, would have been classed as Fake 20 years ago, just on the basis of the RZM logo. Worthy of a bit more discussion, i will start a post on the Party Badge Discussion thread.

Great early supporters badge, but very crudely made. The enamel has obviously been applied in a hurry, and too runny (too much water mixed with) and has not been polished off afterward (which was actually normal procedure for these smaller sympathy badges) by a nice one.

Compare this badge with that on post #143. The same die, but this time no Die error.

Made around early 1935, still trying to get the M1/ sorted out, and used a "-" instead of the normal "/"

Unique Transitional Karl Hensler, exactly the same as the Planchet on post #92. Discussed on the Party badge discussion thread.

Very rare transitional piece, by a rare maker of Party pins. Note the double circles around the RZM logo, which is rarely found on Transitional badges. Regular size at just over 23mm.
Note also the RZM and berechtigungsnummer are mirrored.

Exceptionally rare Liliput version. 13,2 mm, Ges.Gesch marked with a normal Pin attachment. Liliput Party Badges are usually only encountered with a stickpin attachment.

Very Strange piece, Enamel on a Ferrous (Magnetic) planchet. Normal size, 23,2 mm.

Similar time span (period) as the badge above, yet observe the strange Font. Big uneven lettering. The Planchet is Bronze with the silver wash nearly all in tact.

Same as post # 122, except this one is in very good condition. The silverwash is worn a bit on the swastika and the left side of the obverse, but apart from that, sweet as a nut
