The Virginia Museum of Military Vehicles has a large collection of military tracked and wheeled vehicles. One of the more interesting is the group's Hetzer. Here are a few photos from their website of the "restoration" of the Hetzer from a post-war Swiss version to a very WWII looking Jagdpanzer 38. Modeling on a large scale.

There are many more at http://vmmv.org/tanktk/hetzer/hetzer.htm

Photos: Before, during, and after "restoration."

Whenever Alan Cors decides to hold his annual 'open house' this year, my friend Willi and his friend Dave are going to put up an exhibit of an Army and Waffen-SS black panzer jackets and an Army and Waffen-SS assault gun jackets. So if you get the invitation to attend, look in the big building (where they normally set up exhibits) and look for Willi and Dave. Supposed to be in August (maybe).

In 2009 the open house was held in October on a very rainy weekend. To find out about this year's event and to get an invitation, all one has to do is register on the webpage - http://vmmv.org/registration/reg.htm

I think you mean the 2008 event as October 2009 hasn't happened yet.

Bob, right you are. I guess I am too forward thinking.

In any case, I recommend the event to anyone who can attend.

Cheers,
